The story
From challenge to solution.
The starting point
The Don Bosco Christmas Market was founded in Bamberg in 2009. It has since become an established part of city life, but its design had largely stood still. Plans for a new poster prompted the desire for a new master design. The signage also needed updating, with an effective wayfinding system to be developed.
The solution
The new logo gave the Christmas market a distinctive identity, reflecting its Christian and social ethos – unusual among Christmas markets. The focus is not on profits or sales opportunities, but on a spiritual outlook during the quiet season. The wayfinding system, using large weatherproof signs, worked even in the winter darkness.
